Everything you'll need to make your all-natural lip balm (an 'all purpose balm') using Certified Organic and Pure ingredients, with a simple to follow and foolproof recipe. This vegan recipe produces a balm with a high shine/gloss which is perfect for a lipgloss over a lip pencil pigment, or to give your eyelashes a natural look with shine.
What's new?
- Increased amounts to include the new 30ml carrier oil range from the Ingredients & Packaging page available now.
- A 10ml screw lid travel tin.
- Revised instruction pamphlet with an area to record any variations you choose to do with this recipe.
Full instructions are included with your kit and some suggestions for using this recipe as a base to make some therapeutic balms using essential oils or infusions.
The standard kit contains a mixture of card tubes (single use, absolutely biodegradable) and stainless steel pots (which are refillable).
The ingredients are given in the correct amounts so all you need to do is assemble some tools to melt and pour. Obtaining a chocolate melting pot is recommended however not necessary...you can do the same with a stainless steel milk jug.
I choose to use Certified Organic and Pure ingredients for the DIY Lip Balm Kit because apart from making good sense (we will be using these on our lips so they should be as toxin-free as possible right?) it also supports organic and sustainable practices.
About the ingredients:
Shea Butter is rich in cinnamic acid which helps to protect our skin from UV rays and is anti-inflammatory. It's high concentration of fatty acids moisturises and conditions the skin.
Candellila Wax is also rich in skin nourishing nutrients that work well with the Coconut Oil. It is a natural stabiliser for the balm, ie: a natural preservative. It provides a great robustness to recipes and produces a balm with a high gloss.
